From: ANCESTORY OF THE McKINNEYS
DICTATED BY VIRGIL McKINNEY
WRITTEN BY W.C. McKINNEY

"Henry, the third son, broke himself up betting on a fine horse. He owned a little place one mile southeast from the mouth of McKinney's Creek. He lived, died and was buried on that place. His widow and some of the children went to Georgia. He had a son, Henry, that settled on Buck Creek who was the father of Martin and Billie McKinney."

Accordingt to his will, Henry had 14 children (my first 6 children, my last 8 children) possibly 6 by Mary, 8 by Nancy. The children listed here by me are the only ones I found any proof of -- This site
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~teaster/index.htm lists a lot more but no references are given. I've asked for her sources and never received a reply.

Henry McKinney's will:
Page 39.   24 Aug. 1834  Recorded, Fall Court 1837.  I, HENRY MCKINNEY, farmer, being of perfect mind.  I give to my beloved wife NANCY one horse that I got from my son WILLIAM, also 150 acres of land in Spartanburg Dist., SC on waters of Buck Creek.  The above item to be disposed of at her own discretion.  I desire that my wife NANCY have full use and benefit of the 125 acres of land on which I now live, with the horse I got from SETH RUSSELL, and all other stock  & household furniture.  As my dtrs, marry off they are to receive 16 pounds of feathers each.  The reason I leave nothing to my first 6 chn. is that they have more than I can leave the last eight.  I appoint my son WHITLOCK MCKINNEY sole executor and to act as guardian of my minor chn. if necessary.  Wit: JOHN BEDFORD, ALANSOM PADGETT, STEPHEN CAMP, JURAT.
Signed: HENRY MCKINNEY
